Cleobella Wenona Clutch

Feathers are everywhere right now. They have been popping up on jewelry, hair accessories, clothing… practically anything you can imagine. I can certainly understand why though. After all, I have been a bit obsessed with feather earrings lately! But of all the feathers I have seen floating around out there, I don’t think too many of them were on handbags. So of course I was intrigued when I came across the !

Even more intriguing is that this clutch doesn’t look much like other Cleobella handbags I have seen. Most are heavily adorned with studs, beading, or fringe. This piece, on the other hand, is quite simple. The soft, hand dyed leather is folded ever so neatly and each fold is secured at the sides with a simple stud. I love how the top of the clutch folds over and the feather adornment (which is actually a zipper pull) hangs down in front. The detail of the feather itself is exquisite! Just look how graceful the lines of the shaft and barbs (the horizontal lines) are! I also love the color combination. I think the mustard yellow feather looks great on its light turquoise background. Not bad for a boho-chic look!

Christian Louboutin Sweet Charity

I love glitter nail polish! It is such a fun way to spice up your manicure! But there is also something I hate about glitter nail polish. It is super hard to get off! Scrub it with nail polish remover all you want, it just doesn’t want to budge. If only I could get that glitter look without the headache of switching to something new the next day. Wait… maybe I can. What about a glittery handbag? Certainly not for everyday use, but super cute for a night out! That’s why I am really liking the Glitter and Suede Mini Bag!

What I like most about this bag is the fact that it is a mini. The small size balances the multicolored glitter, making this little ball of stardust festive but not overwhelming. I’m also loving the curious choice of accents for this piece. Purple suede forms a bow like embellishment, which in turn is adorned with gold tone chain mesh and dome-shaped studs. You can’t get any more unique than that! Use the dainty chain strap to wear this bag cross body. Or for an even cuter look, tuck the chain strap inside and carry it in hand like a clutch. Either way, you are sure to brighten up the room!

Kate Spade Westwind Drive Felice Tote

I don’t go to the beach very often, as it’s way too hot in Miami to the point you can barely breathe, but when I do I try to go as stylish as possible. I’m definitely one of those women that have designer beach goods like towels, dresses, umbrellas, sandals, bags etc. When I stumble on unique looking beach accessories I tend to want them including the Kate Spade New York “Westwind Drive Felice” Tote.

Usually, I’m not a fan of gold or silver fashion accessories I always thought they were too gaudy looking but in the past year or so I’ve fallen in love! I’ve come to the realization that sometimes flashy is good and fun! The “Westwine Drive Felice” Tote is unlike any beach tote I’ve ever seen before. I don’t recall ever seen a shiny gold beach tote that would shine amazingly in the sun!

Ideally the tote isn’t practical for the beach but it sure is gorgeous! For me, I like to carry my everything in my beach bag to prevent carrying lots of bags. For this tote, I’d made a sacrifice though and bring multiple bags.

What I love about the “Westwind Drive Felice” Tote is that it has a drawstring closure. Most beach are made with no closures so it’s nice to see this adorable one have one! Keeps your personal items from being seen by the whole beach! Flashy and fun, I love this bag!

You can purchase the Kate Spade New York “Westwind Drive Felice” Tote at Bloomingdales for $295.

Rebecca Minkoff MAM Bombe

When Rebecca Minkoff introduced her Bombe collection, the pieces became an instant hit! My favorite piece from this collection, of course, is the Morning After Mini Bombe. This bag is so gorgeous, you might even say it is a Bombe-shell! Plus I love the look of two-tone color combinations on handbags! But of all the versions I have seen of this bag, I think the one you see pictured here is by far the most beautiful. Introducing the Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini Bombe in Navy/Black!

The color of this bag is simply amazing! It looks like a little jewel! Rebecca Minkoff calls the color Navy, but it almost looks like a darker shade of cobalt blue to me. The richness of the blue is countered beautifully with black basket weave trim, which is not only bold but intricate as well. The elegant lines that are characteristic of the Bombe collection have really been brought to life! Rebecca Minkoff certainly knows how to do retro-inspired right! This classic satchel will look great paired with tailored pieces for an unbelievably sophisticated look for work or play. Feeling a bit more trendy? Pair it with other retro-inspired pieces for a great Indie look!

Discover the Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini Bombe at RebeccaMinkoff, where it is currently available in Navy/Black!

Tory Burch McLane

Step into a Tory Burch boutique and you will literally be assaulted by beautiful patterns, details and interesting elements that somehow just WORK. Tory’s sense of easy chic style has caught the fashion world by storm and become a go to label for today’s active woman who wants to be put together yet retain personality in the way she dresses. Tory makes this happen with classic updated silhouettes combined with luxurious fabrics, prints and colors that translate from clothing to accessories.

The other brilliant aspect of Tory’s accessories is price point. Beautiful, well-made, highly detailed handbags for a truly low price when you compare to the brands available today. For a woman who likes to change her bags depending on mood and outfit, you’ll love Tory’s options that are easy on your wallet and you will not lose quality or style!

The bag I’m loving today is the McClane. A beautiful light shade called Honey. it’s a gorgeous neutral for today’s styles. A stunning lady-like flap bag (2 trends in one) with a gold chain accented shoulder strap. There’s plenty of comfortable leather on the handle so that the chain does not dig into your shoulder. Supple leather flap closes with a turnlock closure. Tonal top-stitched leather provides a subtle detail with a little “pop” of Tory’s signature logo in gold-tone.

The bag is quite functional too. An exterior slip pocket makes for easy access to your keys and phone. Interior zip, wall and cell phone pockets for organization and there’s even a mirror for you. A detail you see with most vintage bags. One that has been passed on by many of today’s designers.

By today’s standards, it’s a small bag measuring 10″ x 8″ x 3″. However once you’ve carried a bag this size, it holds everything you need and leave plenty of room for things you tend to pile into your bag that you do not! I think you’ll agree it’s a beautiful bag for a modest $395 at Nordstrom.

Louis Vuitton Vernis Alma BB

Jennifer Love Hewitt looked so put together at the Foundation Polo Challenge, an event to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. I love her navy blue dress from Monique L’Huillier and blue-gray peep-toe pumps from Christian Louboutin. But what is this lovely nude handbag I see accenting her look? It looks like a miniature version of the Louis Vuitton Vernis Alma. I haven’t seen a pint-sized Alma since Louis Vuitton’s little satin pieces from about a decade ago. So I guess it was about time for Louis Vuitton to once again experiment with favorite style-inspired minis. If you ask me, the Vernis Alma was an excellent choice!

This little beauty is called the . It is both whimsical and sophisticated, perfect for special occasions. I am not sure what color Jennifer’s bag is, but I believe it may be the Rose Florentin. It was one of the original colors made available for this style when it was released at the beginning of the year. Whatever it is, it looks gorgeous paired with Jennifer’s outfit! Plus she’s carrying this baby in the way it was meant to be carried — as an evening bag. Cute!

CFDA and eBay join forces, launch line of totes to combat counterfeiting

If there’s one thing on which we can all agree around here, it’s that fake bags are the opposite of awesome. Both eBay and the Council of Fashion Designers of America are on board that ship as well, and they’ve gotten together to start the “You Can’t Fake Fashion” tote bag campaign, which launches at 11 a.m. today on the eBay Fashion Vault.

To mark the launch of the $35 anti-fake tote bags, whose proceeds benefit the CFDA Foundation, eBay and the CFDA asked 50 American brands and designers to customize one-of-a-kind totes that will retail for $150 each. From a minimal, modernist version by The Row to appliqued black lace from Jason Wu to illustrations by Rodarte, the designers came through. Some of the designs are better than others, of course, but we’ve got pictures of all of them after the jump. Which one is your favorite? If you’d like to purchase one of the regular or customized totes to support eBay’s and the CFDA’s fight against fakes, visit the eBay Fashion Vault at 11 a.m. today.

Man Bag Monday: The Mulberry Clipper Holdall

Mulberry Clipper Leather Holdall, $1495 via Mr. Porter

Every time I see the Mulberry Clipper Leather Holdall, I sigh a little bit. It’s both a happy and a sad sigh – happy because the bag is both functional and simply gorgeous, sad because I don’t have one in my closet right now. And if I did, I think I’d probably take it out to pet it every now and then, even if I weren’t planning on a weekend away.

But with a travel bag like this, I think I’d be motivated to take more trips, which is why I’ve chosen it for the week’s Man Bag Monday. That’s right, Mulberry technically categorizes this weekender as a bag for its male customers, but I think it’s clearly unisex. And because I’m the one with the blog-posting capabilities, what I say, goes around here.

As I’ve mentioned on previous Man Bag Mondays, those dual gender capabilities are always one of my favorite things about man bags. Not only do they provide men with a way to add a bit of luxury to their everyday activities without sacrificing masculinity (who doesn’t need a nice briefcase or gym bag?), but they also expand the accessory universe for women in ways that tend to be very functional and neutral. I mean, just look at this bag. I don’t need to explain its British heritage appeal or how fantastic a leather bag this really is. The pictures say everything. Actually, what this picture doesn’t say is worth mentioning – the bag also comes with a shoulder strap.

Another thing that I’ve noticed about men’s bags is that they tend to be a bit less expensive than a similar bag would be if marketed to women. Men are likely not as immune to sticker shock as most female accessories buyers are, and the price points on their bags reflect the probable reluctance of a dude to spend so much money on something that most men don’t see as a daily necessity. At around $1500, this bag surely isn’t cheap, but it’s kind of a deal compared to the relative size and price point of Mulberry’s women’s leather bags.

The Many Clutches of Christian Louboutin

We’ve heavily covered Christian Louboutin‘s hit-and-miss record when it comes to handbags in general, but when it comes to the footwear master’s clutches, I rarely have a negative review to report. Something about the small size and structure of an evening bag lends itself well to Louboutin’s design sensibility, probably because the scale and rigidity make clutches more similar to designing a shoe than other types of bags. And we all know that Louboutin has his shoe game on lock, now don’t we? Here are four of our current favorite CL clutches for your consideration; we think you’ll agree that Louboutin has something of a flare for these particular bags.

Miu Miu Drawstring Leather Tote: Hitting Below the Belt?

Looks like the snob has spoken too soon! I was just discussing with friends how, in my opinion, Miu Miu totes have surpassed the design of Pradas, and along comes this busy bag. It's not the slightly de-structured shape that I mind, and I even like the clever colorblocking (muted gray and blue would be a fall staple, purple on berry leather is rather yummy, and brown enhances them both in an unexpected way).

It's just that the details are too obvious; the hardware and excess leather bits are too forced. A drawstring belt with odd-looking snaps as the closure? This wins "Most Likely to be Mistaken for Pants" award, hands down. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to fight with my tote over who wears the pants around here! So what do you think: snob or slob?

SANG A "Slide" Triple-Wave Cross-Body Clutch: Night Rider

A super-luxe bag you're not going to see coming and going when you walk down the street? I'm all about it! I discovered SANG A, the namesake line designed by former famed Korean actress, several years ago, and she has yet again reminded me what an inimitable way she has with luscious skins.

This asymmetrical clutch with a cross-body strap is so sexy, so unique, and so darkly alluring, it's enough to inspire me to plan a thrilling night out when all I wanted to do was lounge at home! Glittering snakeskin in "Black Midnight" has been smoothly and powerfully arranged into three sculpted panels, to create a bag that is poised to hang like a little work of art. An understated gunmetal chain-strap completes the racy effect and enables you to dance the night away. Price upon request at SANG A.

Pair with: Show your class and your sass in one skirt. With a bag this special, you can go for all black. Temperley London's "Odette" skirt stretches so you can move and has brocade side panels to enhance the texture of your look

Sissi Rossi Coin Purse Shopping Tote: Sister, Sister

Most Siamese twin bags just don't work (JƩrƓme Drefuss' "Igor" bag) because the extra bag hanging off just looks like an unwanted growth. But Sissi Rossi has taken the inseparable sibling look from awkwardly frumpy to fantastic!

Orchestrated with emphasis, the outer frame bag sitting atop the simple tote looks exactly as it should: like a giant and purposeful coin purse, whimsical yet practical. Soft nappa leather in worn denim blue teases you to beat it up for increased edge. Add a signature oversized safety pin for rebellion and the offbeat look is complete. Of course, Sissi Rossi could have easily arranged the coin purse on the tote's lining, but that's not how they roll - why do the expected?

My mind is running wild with all the organization possibilities. All big belongings in the big sister, with the items that are hard to find yet constantly needed - phone, keys, lip gloss - totally compartmentalized. Organized rebellion: just my type! At Barneys New York for $615.

Pair with: Tender yet tough. A leather cord with coil of silver cradling a baby pearl, the perfect compliment to a bag with a coin purse baby. Andrea Piccini Silver Pearl Pendant Necklace, $627.

Trussardi 1911: Variety is the Spice of Trussardi

Every snob should be keen to deluxe Italian brand Trussardi (yes, since 1911!), still maintaining just a cult following in the States. I'm setting out to change that! And so is the house's new collection of bags, a gorgeous assortment of luxurious clutches, hobos, and satchels, in an enticing variety of laminated metallics, vegetable-tanned and silk-screened leathers, shredded denims and off-beat prints, most with their signature antiqued gold hardware. One bag brand with something for everyone! I bought my first Trussardi bag in Milan during fashion week a few seasons ago and have been watching the brand closely ever since. The latest collection does not disappoint!

The bright crimson bandoleer bag in vachetta leather ($995) - the conventional touches of classic hardware make the color feel racy - would be an instant go-to, while the metallic gold-trimmed shopper tote ($938) looks like raffia, but there's a twist: the fabric has been designed to resemble a "straw mat" (personally, my favorite part is the layered and laced-up handles). The black-and-white hobo bag ($848) blends skin with the same panache as it does opposing shades: python and sheep leather are a winning team.

The spunky set will appreciate the scruffy luxury of a chain-strapped purse ($790) in striped denim and crust leather. Or go sleek with the evening-worthy fabric and nappa leather clutch ($562), with a detachable chain-strap so thin and delicate, it almost doubles as jewelry. True Trussardi fans (and real bag snobs) will recognize them both by the trademark pyramid front detail.

Bottega Veneta Resina Lambskin "Cobra" Bag: Urban Beautification

There are the Bottega Veneta bags meant for indoor occasions, the elegant lunches, charity events, and sit-down affairs; then there are the rare few made for hitting the streets. The "Cobra" bag is one of those experimental pieces that just nail it, no holds barred. A subversive feast for the eyes in all its autumnal-hued glory: shiny python, grainy leather, and texture weave (the effect is almost glamorously prehistoric), adding up to a big-city bag with big-city attitude.

The girl who carries this bag has enough personality to command the entire room; she is one tough cookie who gets what she wants, all the while remaining sweet and charismatic. Hmm...sounds familiar! (Confidence is a state of mind, right?) This bag is so exquisite, I could live with the "Cobra" and nothing else for the whole season, and this time I really, truly mean it! Which is exactly how I'm going to justify the hefty price tag. So worth it though! This season confidence comes in the form of a once-in-a-blue moon bag. She will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine! To be sold at Bottega Veneta for $5,250.

Pair with: Well, since this is all I'll be carrying, everything. But I'm sure I'll find myself in the Pedro Garcia "Chabela" wedges from summer through fall, a transitional sandal in rich brown suede and leather. Pedro Garcia "Chabela" Suede and Leather Wedge Sandals, $480.

Givenchy Mini "Pandora" Messenger: Opening Pandora's Box

Wrinkled sheepskin leather and a thin, toss-on-and-go shoulder strap sounds like an easy rock 'n' roll bag, and this funky mini just might be it. I've never been a fan of Givenchy's original "Pandora" - she looks stylish, but don't let her easy appearance fool you. Try to carry or open the bag, and you realize it's boxy and inconveniently shaped. Plus, the larger size only had one top handle for carrying, so you needed two hands just to open it and a third to retrieve your belongings.

But a petite size with a long strap? This cross-body style, leaving both hands free to do as you please, makes all the difference. And the proportions are right on: "Pandora's" odd shape looks decidedly cute in a small size. In vibrant violet, you've got quirky attitude; in black, you've got wear-with-whatever attitude. Second time around, Pandora's box might be full of good surprises. At Barneys New York for $980.

Pair with: A swipe of electric-blue eyeliner, a la SJP and Rihanna, will match the independent spirit of your little bag. Bright aqua eyeliner looks surprising with purple and enhances basic black. Check out the blues by Nars, Make Up For Ever, Sisley, and By Terry.

Michael Kors "Skorpios" Flap Shoulder Bag: Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut...

There is something so appealing about walnut-colored textured leather. The possibilities are endless (try to think of a single shade it won't go with) and you just want to keep looking at it. I love this gorgeous, neutral color, and so does Michael Kors. He knows how to command, not overcome, a leather as supple and inviting as this. The "Skorpios" was popular as a tote bag, but this flap-over version - a convenient, convertible top-handle-to-shoulder bag - is seriously worth lusting over. For small girls, the strap will even let it double as a crossbody, for ultimate convenience.

Smooth, fluid lines are punctuated by woven leather details, which compliment the matte gold hardware. The combination of summery weave suggesting a handmade touch and buffed golden touches reminds me of the Italian Riviera - which is exactly where I think I should take this sumptuous bag. Easy to carry and beyond versatile, it's an ideal vacation tote. Maybe we'll also swing over to the private island of Skorpios while we're at it!

Loewe "Flamenco" Bag: Loewering the Bar

Madrid's venerable house of Loewe has produced luxury goods since 1846. And it has recently been on a real handbag hot streak! (The "May" bag is utterly divine!).

But I'm sorry to say their latest effort, the "Flamenco" bag, flops - literally. A modern take on their emblematic eighties bag, it is, admittedly, a nice change from the highly structured "Amazon." However, this quasi-hobo in Napa leather with large pull tassels is just a bit too uninspired to be totally worthy of its reputable maker.

Described as "Loewe's funniest and cheekiest handbag," it's actually not so much curvaceous as it is bloated and the tassels seem present only out of lack of a better notion. Even infused with ubiquitous colorblocking (blue on purple, coral on pink) the "Flamenco" evokes gypsy, not luxury - and certainly not what we expect from Loewe. I think I will take my Flamenco the old-fashioned way: over Rioja at a tapas bar!

Rebecca Minkoff "Ben's Tote:" It's a New Day

Something new from Rebecca Minkoff! After giving us every incarnation of the "Morning After" bag imaginable, we finally have a refreshing departure. "Ben's Tote" is full of striking yet simple details, just the way I like them. Woven black leather on a square tote makes for the ideal daytime bag - the casual airiness of a straw bag with a twist of refinement. And yes, I'm (way) into square totes.

Especially ones that have all the practical accoutrements: an outer pocket that blends right in, due to the dark weave; a top zip for security; and untraditionally adjustable straps. Each strap slides up and down the length of the bag and you punch in the studs where you want them - a cool designwith a look that reminds me of Proenza Schouler's "PS1" style, but not so much that it bothers me. Just because we might have seen hints before doesn't mean a bag won't feel totally fresh!

Tod's "Ava" Python Tote: Back to (Not So Basic) Basics

With a recent slew of slouchy bags, Tod's almost made us forget that the house was built on structured pieces. The "Ava" marks return to classicism! She's got sharp angles, countered by a friendly, expandable center, which puts the python exterior center stage. The suede sides smartly punctuate the snake - an exclusively python bag sometimes overwhelms the skin's luxuriousness, forcing it to lose focus and distinction.

Notice the seam down the middle of the front. You might say it's for symmetry - it does highlight the handle design, which I'm loving as it provides the bag with necessary flair - but it's really done to purposely use only the best part of the python. In gray, this bag is sumptuous, chic, and ideal for hiding dirt. Which is good because the top zip of this spacious tote enforces the fact it's designed for city girls (as if the structured shape didn't let you know).

A refreshing return to the archetype, and for Tod's and for python, the price is not bad. Now I didn't say good, but you could definitely do worse (have you checked out the prices of VB's collection?!?!). Overall, awn investment piece that's basically a no-brainer. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $3,115.

Pair with: Shake up your skins! Jenni Kayne's chestnut-leather polo dress is a surprising pairing for day that puts an eclectic spin on Tod's "Ava." Jenni Kayne "Welt" Polo Dress, $995.

Tom Binns Large Studded Bag: Binns' Metal-Morphosis

Take your time with this one. Tom Binns' large, unslouchy hobo is the type of bag that requires some getting used to. I wouldn't expect anything less from the directional jewel designer, known for decadent heaps of safety pins, tangled pearl strands, and acidic neon-painted crystals. It's only a logical move for a designer like him to produce a bag bedecked from top to bottom in cone studs. I love his singular take on jewels, and suffice to say, the more I look at this funkily shaped bag, the more I like it.

The measurements sound big (27" x 14.5"), but this metal-covered leather bag is sculpted in gentle, sloping curves so it doesn't feel cumbersome. However, the combination of the bag's flatness and its bottom-heavy shape will make it very difficult to find anything, as its all sure to lump to the bottom. An exciting, if impractical (typical of the visionary Binns!) first bag effort - I'm intrigued to see what heavy-metal creation he's set to whip up next.

Alexander McQueen Leopard Pony Clutches: Hop on the Pony Express

How could such obvious, undeniable, eternal clutch perfection only be occurring now? Not that I'm complaining; I'm just thrilled that these Alexander McQueen bags are finally here. Animal print is sophisticated no matter how you look at it and pony hair is a tactile delight any day of the year. Put them together, imbue some famous McQueen edge, and I'm simply beaming.

Leopard-print pony is candy to my eyes, and black-and-white peppered pony is even more neutral and appealing. Take your pick: The classic box clutch ($1,450) with Swarovski-detailed skull closure, quintessential McQueen. The knuckle-boxer ($2,095) with delightfully wicked jewels, a cutting-edge style that I will not tire of - rings attached to my clutch? Yes, please! The wildly angled "De-Manta" style ($525), with a refined-feral pattern as singular as the shape - I think we have a winner. These clutches could not be more spot on if they tried.

Barneys Final Sale: Shop Now or Forever Hold Your Peace

There are lots of things I love about the summer. Easy, laid-back dressing. An excuse to drink margaritas while the sun is still up and wear way-brighter colors than I normally would. But what do I love absolutely most about July and August? Duh. The sales! Barneys New York is known to treat us to a whopper of a sale about twice a year, and this summer is no exception. If you risk waiting another week - or even a day or two - these staggering steals are likely to elude you. Here are my picks of the bargain bunch (seriously, the deals this year are so good this almost feels wrong).

Thakoon's intriguing take on the double satchel, a mix of stamped-lizard and suede with a braided strap - might not have made the cut at full price, but at 75% it's arresting enough to take out for a spin, if only once in a while. With a removable strap and magnetic closure beneath that buckles, it has function in mind. If you love funky, not to mention a killer deal, this has your name written all over it. Thakoon "Rampling" Satchel, $419 (from $1,660).

This tote by Barneys' private label has a hint of a McQueen "Novak" feel, but only just a dash - enough to make me fall in love with this everyday basic. Cream canvas is simplistic enough to go with just about anything and sharply graphic leather trip makes it interesting. Barneys New York "Spectator" Tote, $339 (from $850).

Asymmetry all over the place! Jil Sander decided to venture away from minimalist classics, as seen on this leather satchel, half-top zip and half-push-lock closure. This one might be a keeper for the records, and at this price, it's worth the risk. Jil Sander Half-Frame Bag, $759 (from $1,895).

Helmut Lang's "Loki" bag rushed on the scene with a storm, with off-kilter accordion style, faint whiffs of Alex Wang, and three compartments so you're never rummaging around for long. This is an edgy city girl companion and at this price, it perfectly fits the bohemian within. Helmut Lang "Loki" Shoulder Bag, $289 (from $725).

Michael Kors "Gia" Satchel: Kors Light

It looks like the "Project Runway" co-hosts share a taste for sleek style, on and off the show. Heidi Klum carried Michael Kors' "Gia" bag, a black python version from Pre-Fall 2011, in New York two days in a row last week (you know a celeb really loves a bag when it gets multiple outings!). It just reinforced the fact that his clean and structured tote is all the rage.

This is the day bag you carry if you want to look instantly sharp and polished - it dresses up both Heidi's flowing maxi and cotton sheath without looking out of place or overdone. Python (or crocodile-embossed leather, which is also available for more pleasant price) is timeless and so is the shape - hard but not stiff and ready to hold all your gear for a day's worth of errands. It is also the ultimate bag for the modern lady: all-American and all-fabulous.

Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Messenger Bag: What Would We Do Without You?

Ask anyone in Taiwan with Tina and me- or anyone who has seen us out and about, for that matter - which bag we carry more than any other, and the unanimous answer will be our Nancy Gonzalez messengers. Yes, we both have one! (Mine is white; Tina's is camel.) This is the ideal all-day, everyday bag. Unlike a typical messenger, it's no schoolgirl rucksack. With a streamlined silhouette and croc skin, it demands respect as a real bag. At the same time, it's so easy and cute - just the breezy, laid-back bag you want and need right about now. And don't let the small size fool you: like all NG designs, it's full of organization (the back has a hidden zipper pocket, the interior is packed with compartments). Not only does the strap look cool (in croc, of course); it has a nifty adjusting system, in which the strap doubles over on itself and stays put in the loops.

My white messenger is on the seasonal side, but the camel or navy - ooh, I'm tempted to get it in navy, too! - is something every busy girl needs. Hands-free liberation and added dimension to your torso via the cross strap. At Bergdorf Goodman for $2,400.

Pair with: Like a belt, a bag like this is a great finisher for a simple top and maxi look. Helmut Lang's draped skirt, with a long length and up-to-there slit, and James Perse's perfectly simple white tee amount to easy chic.

Vanessa Bruno Suede Shoulder Bag: Wear to Love, Love to Wear

Vanessa Bruno - think of her as Isabel Marant's cousin in the family of Parisian über-cool - has just whipped up a thoroughly mint bag. Meet the new look: the hobo-tote hybrid (the hobote?!). Her suede shoulder bag boasts all the conveniences of both with the lure of freshness. Slick with some structure at the frame, then relaxed with a bit of slouch through the midsection. The key is the shoulder-strap placement: it is placed so the satchel holds its shape and doesn't collapse on itself when you put in on your shoulder.

But it's the tab closure that's the focal point. Oversized and easy to deal with, it gives you the carefree option of leaving it open without flapping in your way. I love the terra-cotta color, but suede will always worry me. "New" can turn "old" in a heartbeat. Suede seems like a good idea until you've had it for a while and then you notice it has started to bald and fray. This new bag is such a great fall piece - just be extra-nice to it so it doesn't get ruined!

Balmain "Abroad" Chain Shoulder Bag: Balmain or Bust

Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Since I'm an optimist, here goes. The good news is Balmain's obscene prices finally seem to be slipping. The bad news is their bags still look like they were pulled out of Forever 21 or the local mall. (If this one doesn't have you convinced, check out last year's exposed zipper satchel. Or 2010's oddly un-edgy clutch. Overdone and overpriced? No, thank you!)

I have seen the bags up-close and personal, and they are just not on par with Balmain's ready-to-wear. Where is the ironic flash, the rock star panache, the swish and snap? Because all I'm seeing here is a shiny calfskin shoulder bag with a wavy, whip-stitched flap front and an unremarkable chain strap. Hopefully, under the charge of new (and super-hot) creative director, Olivier Rousteing, Balmain will get its accessories right, once and for all.

Anya Hindmarch "Huxley" Tote: A Vote for a Tassel Tote

You all know how much I love tote bags. I love their simplicity and function, the ease with which I carry one. So here's another that caught my eye. The Anya Hindmarch "Huxley" fits the bill - it's simple and roomy. And although I don't usually like tassels, this stingray-embossed tassel pull at the zipper is not bad. The leather tote features rolled handles, which I do love. But I would never use the detachable canvas strap (unless I was using this as one of my carry-on travel bags, for a serious messenger look). It also sports other goodies, such as metal feet, a pen slot and key hook, and of course, a couple of patch pockets. If I keep finding tote bags I like, pretty soon I'll be carrying a tote in a tote!

Elliot Mann Your Bag

If you have been following my posts, then you probably know that my mom was a self-proclaimed hippie. And when I was a teenager myself, I was fascinated by this. I loved checking out my mom’s hippie clothes and would sometimes borrow things to wear. They were pretty cool, after all. During this time, I loved those cute little “hippie” bags that you could find just about anywhere. My favorite one was a cream crocheted crossbody. And even though I sort of grew out of the look as I grew older (I said sort of!), I still find myself secretly adoring those cute little “hippie” bags all over again. So you can probably understand why I think the is pretty darn cool!

I stumbled upon this bag while browsing around on ShopBop’s website. I had never heard of this designer, but the look of this bag still drew me in nonetheless. It turns out that Elliot Mann is a New York-based designer with a flair for bohemian chic, one-of-a-kind accessories. What I like about this bag is that the beads, coins, and ribbons adorning the bottom edge were reclaimed from vintage Afghani wedding belts. Neat! I really do love the look too, it is very unique. Plus is looks so cool paired with the solid, accordion pleated navy canvas. The bag is accented with a long leather strap and leather drawstring closure, perfect for use as a simple crossbody pouch.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Bianca Dreams of Monte Carlo Wallet

I’m usually one for neutral colors but when I spotted the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Bianca” Dreams of Monte Carlo Continental Wallet I was amazed. What caught my eye the most was how beautiful the color is. For me to actually say a color is beautiful, it must really be because I’m on the morbid side. I only like black and white and when a color catches my eyes it’s usually gorgeous. The color is called “Ocean Sapphire” and it’s definitely eye popping and perfect for the Summer. Summer is all about color and this is probably one of the more prettiest colors in existence!

What I also like about this wallet is that his has a chain and leather shoulder strap, which gives it an optical illusion that it’s a clutch. I love wallets that are like this because it’s simple and you just carry around what you really need: money, credit cards and an I.D. It’s perfect for when you’re in a rush or on a trip and don’t want to carry much around with you. It’s so rare too that you see a wallet this beautiful that has a shoulder strap. It’s not often I see gorgeous wallet’s period and this might even beat my Louis Vuitton one! So lovely and boy do I want it!

Chloe Darla Bag

My biggest complaint about very structured handbags is the fact that no matter how attractive they are, most are extremely uncomfortable to carry. With the stiff corners and heavy textiles, most handles are either rolled or just as structured and shoulder-aching themselves. ChloƩ proves that structured pieces can be just as comfortable with one of their latest, the Darla Shoulder Bag.

The first in-your-face feature is the unique squared body of pebbled leather in a richly dyed shade of Royal Blue. Looks a little purple to me, but of course we’re taking ChloĆ© word on its true color description. This feminine silhouette is most definitely attractive, but as the French House tends to craft their accessories, they usually arrive a little on the over weight side. You would usually expect to see a little more pounds of hardware on a ChloĆ©, but this time around, the House has limited the metal and gone for a much cleaner and vintage-esque look. For a couture look, simply pull the shoulder straps back and carry this on the crook of the arm by means of its leather top handles, but the greatest alterations of all are the smooshy flat leather shoulder straps that give this bag a chance of qualifying as one of the most comfortable ChloĆ© bags out there.

Harajuku Lovers Of the Sea Backpack

I finished college last year but when I was attending for some odd reason I always liked having either the most fashionable school supply or the cutest. Sometimes my stuff was high fashion and sometimes it was things you would envision a little girl would have. I wouldn’t say I’m immature it just brought some life to the very boring college life I had. Plus the girls would always be mean to me to my face or behind my back talking about the accessories I had, the heels I wore, or how much of an idiot I must be to spend what I did on what I had. I can still remember to this day walking out of class and a girl yelling at me, “Just so you know college isn’t a fashion show Pantene girl.” I looked at her and just gave her the famous Pantene hair flip because two wrongs never make a right and karma is meaner than I can ever be.

I’m not sure if I would of ever actually purchased the Harajuku Lovers “Yummier” Backpack but boy can I admit that it’s adorable! If I had a child I would probably buy this for her to be cute and stylish at school. I’m not a colorful person at all, but the colors are so bright and pretty and who doesn’t love mermaids? When I was little I would always go to the beach hoping to see a mermaid only to learn when I got older that they didn’t exist. It’s definitely pretty and would catch eyes just on it’s cuteness factor alone. Whether for a child or for an adult that feels young, it’s an adorable piece to attend class with.

Vintage Chanel Bags

Who doesn’t love vintage Chanel? For one it’s classic and has proven to last the test of fashion time. But what is it about owning a Chanel handbag that addicts have grown to love? I don’t have the answer for you, it’s just something about owning at least one piece (if not more!) in your collection that we all aspire to do. You will never forget your first Chanel.

And what’s great about Chanel is even if you buy a brand new one straight off store shelves or someone’s pre-loved bag, you’re still getting one fabulous classic.

And you can never go wrong with a vintage Chanel, but when it comes to eBay and authenticity you never really know. This is why I always turn to What Goes Around Comes Around, founded by college friends Gerard Maione and Seth Weisser. It’s a vintage vault and archive that houses one of the most extensive vintage fashion collections in the world. Vintage aficionados from across the globe, as well as editors, stylists, and top design teams look to WGACA Vintage for the best from fashion’s past. They know their stuff.

Burberry BiColor Nappa Tassel Clutch

The Burberry Prorsum collections have provided us with some edgy British chic in trench coats with a twist, spiked and over-sized plaids and studs, bold design elements and heels all with a nod to the British classics. This adorable clutch is no exception to the over-the-top styling. While we’re in the midst of a sweltering summer and white is perfectly fine to carry, this bag ships AFTER Labor Day. If the proper, etiquette abiding, tea-loving English say it’s okay to carry white in the Fall, then it really must be true!

This Burberry BiColor Nappa whimsical bag has an unusual, somewhat kidney shaped, over-sized tassles and sawtooth detailing simultaneous give a nod and a cheeky wink to schoolgirl style. This bag is not hard-edged or even a bit tough. It is bold and a little more on the fun side with the large tassles that look a bit like an oversized mustache. The black piping and sawtooth edging frame the bag nicely. A tiny silver-tone Burberry logo plate accents the bag in a subtle way. The removable, slim strap attached to the front and back of the bag for use as a shoulder bag.

It’s such an adorable and uniquely shaped bag, it would be fun to carry. So, I say go ahead and push your comfort zone with white and enjoy the rule-breaking! Set aside time to indulge in scones and tea to commemorate your liberation from the rules! Pinkies out!

The calfskin bag measures 8.25″ x 11.87″ x 1.2″.

Alexander Wang Adele Clutch

Alexander Wang has certainly undergone some changes this last season. I find it interesting that he has been trading in his heavy studs for simple corner plates (much like those you would find on trunks or hard sided luggage). This hardware appeared on the Small Emile Tote, which I wrote about not too long ago. But here we are seeing this hardware again, although it is on a style that is vastly different from the one mentioned above. It’s called the Alexander Wang Adele Fold-Over Trunk Clutch and, if you ask me, I think the style is much more fitting for the hardware in question.

The hardware, however, was not the only thing that caught my attention with this bag. I also love the intriguing 2-for-1 design. You can carry this clutch unfolded, for a “lunch tote” sort of look. Or you can fold the clutch over and actually hold it so that the “bottom” is facing outward. I love how the hardware is brought front and center when the clutch is carried in this manner. It is certainly a unique look! Plus I love the look of smooth, dove grey leather paired with nickel hardware. A very neutral piece, but perfect for transitioning between day and night!

Stephanie Johnson Madrid Cosmetic Bag

My favorite flowers are roses. They’re beautiful, they smell good and it’s always lovely to have them sitting on a table in your house. To me, flowers bring happiness to a home but roses bring love and beauty in. Whenever I see something that has a rose on it I usually scream and want it. With that said, it comes as no surprise that I fell in love with the Stephanie Johnson “Madrid” Greta Medium Cosmetic Bag.

I have a Louis Vuitton cosmetic bag that I paid quite a bit for but I have to say I’d trade it in for this one. Not only is the “Madrid” a great price but it’s beautiful and I would probably use it as a clutch too. Sometimes I do grab my makeup bag, throw some cash and cards in there and run out the door.

It’s always fun to have colorful accessories inside your bag, at least that’s what I believe. My bags are always black so I like to have some color inside it that way I don’t look too gothic and morbid. I mean my clothes are already black and white, my bag is black so I suppose keeping some color hidden inside a handbag isn’t so bad. Absolutely loving this cosmetic bag and it’s making me what to retire Mr. Louis! Beautiful and a great price, you can’t go wrong!

Prada Madras Bags

Madras, plaids of every color for spring and summer is the pattern of vacations, resortwear and summery attire. One would not think it was appropriate for Fall, but leave it to Prada to find a way to make it so!

Crafted of solid color and two-tone finely woven leather, Prada has created a line of Madras bags lustworthy of any bag lover. If you are a woven bag fan (like me) you will feel like you’ve been hit by Cupid when you see and feel these bags! The leathers are finely woven in India, then sent to Italy for final fabrication. These bags feature weaving all over the bag and straps. Various styles perfect for individual tastes!

Ember Skye Shelly Bag

At first glance, I would have sworn that the bag you see pictured here is by JJ Winters. Just look at all that fringe! And for some reason, I have become hardwired to believe lot’s of fringe automatically equals JJ Winters. I was surprised to learn, however, that this bag was not made by JJ Winters. It is actually from a designer called Ember Skye. Introducing the !

To tell you the truth, I find it rather refreshing to see a new designer that is brave enough to take on the fringe trend! Not a lot of information is available for this designer, but it is clear that Ember Skye is already taking the handbag world by storm. Celebrities like Ashley Greene have already been spotted carrying this particular bag and I can certainly see why! It is gorgeous! I absolutely love how a tote-like style and a full curtain of fringe were brought together in such harmony. Plus the braided straps and gold tone hardware offer a great extra touch. I think this bag would make an excellent, everyday style. Dress it up or dress it down, there really isn’t anything I can think of that wouldn’t go with this bag.

Valentino and I? We still get along sometimes.

I’ve heaped a good bit of criticism onto Valentino and its design duo of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli in the past, and I’m not the only person in the industry who has some questions about the direction of the brand and the aesthetic merit of the pieces it’s turning out. Particularly when you consider that the duo are accessories designers by trade, the bags have been a bit disappointing.

But every now and then, the brand still shows that it knows how to get things done. The Valentino Aphrodite Python Bag is all that it should be – ladylike, luxurious, on-trend and extremely elegant.

Serious Hardware Bags: Go Hard or Go Home

Hardware is making a serious comeback, though for some it never went away in the first place. Girls are growing bored of minimal bags with little to no hardware (but not me! Although I am now more receptive to appropriately hardwared bags).
That's not to say we're going back to the days of the preemptively heavy ChloƩ "Paddington," but you'll soon be seeing bags with significantly bigger functioning hardware. Meaning not just stud embellishments, so typical at this point you wouldn't even bat an eyelash, but headier bits. Like prominent rings, proud metal buckles, and larger closures than what we're used to. Designers are getting inventive with closure, which provides a point of interest. I love the idea of innovation in something we think we've got all figured out.

The first surge of toughened-up bags? Jimmy Choo has sturdy touches right out of the hardware store, and a rumply leather Balmain goes for Sex Pistols style with safety pin trim. A slouchy Michael Kors hobo is barely recognizable under all those bits of metal, while Burberry gives its bowling bag the punk makeover of a lifetime. Alexander McQueen's ridged golden buttons are almost dainty in comparison.
