Alexander Wang Lydia Clutch

Bianca Jagger

Who wants to move like Jagger when you can dress like Jagger?! I’m having a major Bianca Jagger moment right now. She is the only woman I know who can make a three piece white suit look this sexy. But the secret to her polished style is beyond the clothes she wears, it’s her attitude– yup the famous Jagger swagger! And she always toted a great bag, Bianca proves you can dress like a man and have your bag too.

Bottega Veneta Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out

Forgive me for sounding biased, but for me, Tomas Maier can do no wrong. This time, he’s not only doing something just right, he’s onto a project that’s all about doing good. Out of their Cruise 2013 collection and in honor of Fashion’s Night Out (rapidly approaching tomorrow, September 6th!), Bottega Veneta introduces a line of eco-friendly bags. You know Bottega never just goes halfway; when they say green, they mean it. They have used sustainable, vegan materials and environmentally sensitive dyeing processes.

So what are these bags made of, if not sumptuous skins? Lustrous, lightweight jersey and Japanese washi paper!

Chloe Alice Tote: Fit for Wonderland

Chloe might actually comeback with an “it” status with the new Alice. Basically the Paddington revamped (nothing wrong with that, I say!), the satchel shape has just the right amount of details – great hardware that clamps on to the handles, a trim that frames the entire bag and a super cool way to incorporate an exterior pocket. This isn’t anything you will flip out over but that’s just the point, this is a basic that will go the distance with a look that will grow more lovable with each day. Color blocking is so over, but I am somehow ok with this version. If you are totally done with color blocking the all black is one that you will never tire of. At Neiman Marcus, small tote for $1995 and larger also $1995.

Vernissage Boxed Wine

I never thought there’d come a day when I’d not only feature boxed wine on my blog but have strong urges to serve it at my next cocktail party! Have you tasted the Bag-in-Bag wine from Vernissage yet?

Zagliani Snakeskin Nadia Satchel: For the Lady and the Tramp

You know I’ll stop and look at any gorgeous snake bag but one that speaks to all of my lifestyle needs require a closer inspection. I love shoulders and I am lusting for a crossbody that has the sophistication to go places with me – this has a adjustable strap that will keep up with my multi-tasking life. An exquisitely chic shoulder bag in neutral snake is always perfection for dressing up but on my days off when I am slumming it in my jeans, tee and flats, I will be thanking this beauty for kicking it up a notch when I am in no mood to make an effort. Even for an evening out, a crossbody like this is laid back and cool – who needs prim and proper when I’m trying to have a good time? There is one reservation, this is not high quality python, these are small snakes with noticeable seams on the front panel so I can’t justify the price. At Barneys New York for $3600.

Fashion's Night Out Vintage Bag Sale

Are you excited for FNO tonight? I will be working in NYC (filming for the massive China site– Sina.com.cn)but plan to shop online on MyHabit.com before I brave the city streets (internet shopping on FNO is an excellent idea if you’re not into crazy crowds!) For FNO, the addictive shopping site is hosting a special sale full of amazing vintage luxury bags including authentic Hermes and Chanel, this is a can’t miss event if you are a vintage bag snob!

There are other perks as well– if you refer friends you will receive a $20 credit in your account (to put towards that adorable CHANEL lizard bag!!!) when their first order ships. The problem is choosing what bags to buy, there are so many I want! Especially the Hermes HAC in natural vachetta ostrich, it’s the ultimate timeless shade. And we all know what a solid investment Hermes bags are. But then I really really need the Chanel triple chained evening bag (above). Fashion month is full of parties– including a Lady Gaga black tie masquerade that requires me to wear either a tiara OR a lobster on my head– of course I’m choosing the latter to meet Gaga herself. The Chanel evening bag is perfect to deflect from the fact that I have a crustacean on my head. What are your plans for FNO? Are you shopping with me on MyHabit.com or are you braving the crowds?

For the story behind my love of luxury bags, check out my guest post on MYHABIT’s blog, theFIX.

Shop vintage bags at MYHABIT during their FNO event here!

Kylie Minogue Wears Gucci: When In London…

Do as the Londoners do! Okay, maybe that’s not the exact expression, but Kylie Minogue was definitely showing some patriotism as she arrived at her London rehearsal studio on September 6th. The Australian transplant made the logo-laden duffle bag look appropriately free and easy with her baggy khaki-and-denim mix (happily enhanced by a pair of stiletto sandals).

But this isn’t just any double-G-covered Gucci. Not only does it flash the flag, 25% of the retail price is donated to UNICEF in support of the Schools for Africa and Schools for Asia education initiatives, until December 31st . While Kylie is likely to have had her Union Jack specially made, you can show your international love, too.

NYFW Spring 2013: The Must Have Bags

The time has come: American designer brands have emerged as power players in the bag world. Once the strict territory of Chanel, Gucci and Chloe, names like Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler have joined the ranks, earning themselves true It-bag status. I love attending New York Fashion Week, when these soon-to-be-sought-after bags come down the runway, my heart beats with excitement like a girl on a first date with the boy she’s been crushing on. If you think about it, attending shows and visiting designers backstage is very similar to dates! I fret over what I’m going to wear, I blush when they tell me I look amazing, and I get a kiss on the cheek before they send me off. Luckily, I don’t have to commit to just one crush. Yup, I’m calling it: I’m now dating half of NYFW designers, whether they know it or not. This season, more than a few bags have my heart a pitter-patter. Especially Derek Lam‘s gorgeous python bags in a sweet floral print(above). Juxtaposing the ultimate girly trademark against seductive python skin is sweet yet dangerous, a combo Derek-lovin’ girls like me can’t resist. Add the Proenza Schouler sporty leather bowler and Victoria Beckham‘s ladylike, tri-toned shoulder bag to the mix, and I’m set for the season. Here, the current best from my Big Apple faves, from the bold (see zebra-stripes a la Marc Jacobs and cherry-red from Diane von Furstenberg) to the sleek and streetwise (Theyskens’ Theory and Rebecca Minkoff nailed it):
