While its clothing designs may have been rich in Moroccan excess, Frida Giannini's accessories only hinted at Marrakech. Tooled leather purses with braided straps were a mainstay of the collection, which focused heavily on clutches and "evening bags" (and not of the Judith Leiber kind)--at least for the runway. On occasion there would be a smattering of day bags, most of which were festooned with tassels and gorgeous, intricate stitching. I personally loved spring's new take on the "New Bamboo" top handle bag. But considering how chic and classic the fall collection bags were--and in particular the return to the vintage GG logo--I couldn't help but yearn for a little more this go around.
